Asiamold, the International Trade Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, will open its gates for the second time this September 24. Running from the 24th through the 26th, Asiamold 2008 will be held in two exhibition halls of the largest exhibition facility in Asia, located in Guangzhou (Canton), China. And the organizers are preparing for increased numbers of both exhibitors and visitors.
At two months out, the number of registered exhibitors already outnumbered the previous year’s total, according to the fair organizers, DEMAT GmbH and Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co. Ltd. Registered companies from 13 nations give Asiamold a distinctly international orientation.
The organizers will welcome exhibitors and visitors with a diversified accompanying programme that adds to the trade fair’s value. In addition to offering the special feature show Auto mold, which was successful in its debut in 2007, they are premiering in 2008 the design+engineering special theme and the Automation Workshop.
The Automation Workshop is designed to represent the entire process chain, which ranges from design and CAD/CAM systems through computerized job planning and on to production moulding. It will include live demonstrations of a variety of moulding machinery. Electrode-milling machines, high-speed milling machines, and EDM machines will be presented, each running in fully automatic mode using robotic tool changers, electrode changers, and workpiece changers.
In fact, the emphasis at this year’s Asiamold is on automation, as the world-class Asiamold Forum on the theme of “Innovation and Automation” takes up this topic as well.
Most Chinese businesses relevant to the industry scope of Asiamold are located within a radius of 100 km of Guangzhou. The province of Guangdong, whose capital is Guangzhou, is a region of huge industrial concentration. Some 30,000 industrial enterprises are situated there.
