XP Power Introduces New Family of Regulated High Voltage DC-DC Converters for Analytical, Semiconductor and Detector Applications

May 6, 2021 – XP Power officially announces the HRC05 series of 5W regulated high voltage DC-DC converters that provide fully adjustable and reliable output voltages up to 6kVDC in a small package. The modules in this series provide R&D engineers engaged in high voltage integration with a complete set of functions as standard in a compact package. Key highlights include low line and load regulation (<0.01%) and excellent ripple performance (<0.01%), providing accurate and reliable high voltages for long-term applications. All modules comply with IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, 61010-1 safety standards, and are UKCA and CE certified, complying with applicable directives and regulations for global use.

The input voltage of the HRC05 series is rated at 24VDC and the operating range is 22VDC to 30VDC. It has 18 modules to choose from, the positive and negative DC output range is 0V to 350V, and the highest is 0V to 6000V. The output voltage can be adjusted from 0 to 100% via the onboard 0 to +5VDC reference input for easy high voltage integration and control. Voltage and current monitoring outputs are also included in the standard package.

The PCB-mount, convection-cooled versions measure only 65mm x 33mm x 14mm (WxLxH); they are packaged in UL94V-0 rated packaging material and an internally grounded 5-sided metal enclosure for optimal mechanical integration and robustness flexibility, can be integrated into the entire system and save space. The HRC05 series has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C with no current derating over this range. 100ppm stability over 8 hours (after 30 minutes warm-up).

The HRC05 series provides short circuit, arc, overload and over temperature protection circuits as well as remote on/off functionality to ensure the safety of the device and its installed applications. Key applications include mass spectrometry, electrophoresis, electrostatic chucks, detectors, capacitor charging, scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), imaging and diagnostic equipment.
